President of the United States
Most people in the U.S. and in the Globe oppose intervention in Syria, but step by step, U.S. military involvement increases.
I oppose these measures; they would only escalate the conflict in Syria, which has already resulted in 93,000 deaths.
Mr. President, you say that arming the rebels is justified because the Syrian government used chemical weapons against them. Like George W. Bush's claim of "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq, this is a lie. The truth is that the U.S., with its NATO and Gulf States allies, is intervening in Syria to again violate the sovereignty of an independent Arab state that will not do its bidding.
