This Monday, August 19, 2013, the Secretary General of the Unrepresented United Nations (UUN), Giovanni Caporaso Gottlieb, paid a courtesy visit to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP for its initials in Spanish), where was cordially received by its First Vice President, Elio Gamez, Neyra.
During the encounter with the ICAP Vice President, the Leader of the UUN described the objectives of this inter-governmental organisation whose activities are focused on assisting and representing the unrepresented or badly nations and peoples so they can express their positions in the competent forums and obtain their recognition; in addition, he showed an interest in joining purposes and developing initiatives with the ICAP, an entity with more than half a century’s experience in questions of solidarity with the world’s peoples; so much so, in fact that it is present in 158 countries and has brought together more than 2,000 solidary movements with the Cuban revolution.
Giovanni Caporaso Gottlieb explained his commitment creating a permanent forum debating the concept of State terrorism, to Elio Gamez, keeping in mind that there is no internationally accepted definition, as happens with other subjects of high interest in our time.
From his side, the First Vice President of ICAP also invited the Secretary General of the UUN to the activities that are developing in Cuba, regarding the completion on next September of the fifteen years of unjust imprisonment in the United States of four of the five Cuban anti-terrorists: Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo, Ramon Labanino Salazar, Antonio Rodriguez Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez Llort.
The Secretary General of the Unrepresented United Nations, Giovanni Caporaso Gottlieb, exchanged ideas with Elio Gamez about some ways of spreading the irregularities committed in judging the five Heroes of the Republic of Cuba, by employing Internet and other new communication technology.
The secretary General of the UUN likewise gave a booklet to the Vice President of the ICAP, Elio Gamez, that explains the basics of the organisation, arisen with the idea of promoting friendly relations between the nations and peoples, based on respecting the principle of equality of rights and self-determination of the peoples.
