The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, has refused Israel’s offer to release 40 Palestinian prisoners, the Lebanese press agency, al-Ahd, reported quoting the Palestinian minister of Affairs related to Prisoners and ex-Prisoners, Issa Qarage.
The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, had asked Israel for the release of 104 Palestinian prisoners. Abbas has also announced that he will not accept the offer of Israel’s regime, in particular of the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry – who has traveled many times into the occupied areas, with hopes of promoting peace talks between the Palestinians and Israeli.
The declarations of the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas were made after the Israeli newspaper, Moario, quoting Israeli sources, published that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu had agreed to release 40 Palestinian prisoners condemned to long prison terms.
According to the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, “there are currently more than 4,500 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli regime’s prisons, many of whom without charges or having appeared before judge.”
Indifferent to warnings from the international community, Israel has continued with violence against Palestinian citizens, who are forced to serve undefined terms in Israeli jails, without charges pressed against them.
